Jason & Elizabeth Ellerbee
Jason and Elizabeth came to Briarwood after serving 4 years with Campus Outreach at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, GA and 7 years with the JH Ranch (a Christian Camp in Northern California). Jason graduated from Georgia College and State University with a degree in Outdoor Education while Elizabeth got her degree in Early Childhood Development from the University of Georgia. They have two sons, a chocolate lab, and another son on the way. Their desire is that Briarwood would have a community of singles who are rooted and built up in Christ, bearing fruit in every good work, and growing in the knowledge of Christ.

Julie came to Briarwood in 2005 following her sister’s footsteps (Amy Pattillo) as the Women’s Coordinator of the Graduates & Career (G&C). She has a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Harrington College of Design in Chicago and uses her creativity in unique ways with the single adult women at Briarwood. As a team, Julie and new husband Jason, are a vital part of the Singles Ministry.

Louie & Rebecca Haynes
Louie and Rebecca came to Briarwood in 1979 with sons Ron & Richard and joined in 1980. Louie became an area presbyter and studied Systematic Theology at Briarwood Seminary, and Rebecca taught and volunteered at Briarwood Christian High School. They ministered with the H.S. Choir for more than 10 years, because they have a heart for the young believers in the Church. Louie and Rebecca's two sons have given them six wonderful grandchildren. Louie has worked and ministered in the transportation industry for 35 years and is now looking forward to retirement.

Ed and Janet have been a part of the Briarwood family for over 20 years and have been involved with the G&C Sunday School community for the last six years. Janet is a home-maker and while Ed is officially retired from IBM, he still works for them as an agent. They have three children and six grandchildren.

Benny has been a member of Briarwood since 1979 and on the church staff since 1984. Brenda joined the staff in 1985 and in 1987 they were married and thus have been ministering together since. In 2002, Benny took on the role of Ministries Team Pastor which includes the ministries of Music and Worship, Discipleship and Evangelism, Singles, Youth and Children, and Christian Education and Families. Benny serves as the Community Pastor for G&C and Next Step Communities as well as provides leadership for Common Ground and In One Accord. He and Brenda have three children, ages 11-17.

Jim and Amy have been members of Briarwood and involved in the G&C for over 7 years. Jim is an attorney with Norman, Wood, Kendrick, & Turner. Amy “retired” from her job at Briarwood as the Women’s Coordinator of G&C in 2006. They have two boys, ages 2½ and 1 year.

Having been members at Briarwood since 2001, Jim and Debbie have served with the In One Accord Sunday School community for over six years. Jim retired from a local company working in engineering, and now occasionally returns for special projects. Debbie worked for many years as a recruiter for a large law firm, and now has a home business. Together, they are blessed to have five children and eight grandchildren.

Jimmy and Elisa joined Briarwood in 2004 and have been serving as shepherds in the G&C class since January 2009. Jimmy works as a software developer for Arbitron, Inc and is working on a Masters in Biblical Studies from Birmingham Theological Seminary. Elisa is a homemaker and serves Briarwood members by singing in the choir and volunteering in the Church Revitalization ministry.

Frank and Gay have been members at Briarwood since 1989. They have worked with the Singles Ministry since 2002. The first five years they worked primarily with the G&C Sunday School community, but have since been involved with the Common Ground community since its inception. Gay is a home-maker and Frank is the Director of Human Resources with Thompson Tractor Company.
